23rd September 2020 – Savoy Palace, a Leading Hotels of the World property on the beautiful island of Madeira, is welcoming UK guests for their popular Autumn/ Winter season. Madeira’s response to Covid-19 and their handle on the pandemic has been widely praised as being one of the best in Europe and it is considered one of the safest destinations for travellers.
NEW TASTING MENU WITH 360º VIEWS OF MADEIRA
Located on the top of Savoy Palace, Galáxia Skyfood, a 360º view restaurant above the city and sea, presents a new tasting menu of 5 or 7 dishes with wine pairing, inspired by local products but prepared with various and diverse global techniques. Designed by the chef duo Carlos Gonçalves & Francisco Silva and Pedro Campas & Fábio Camacho, this new signature concept promises an exquisite gastronomical experience that enhances flavours, scents and textures. Guests will enjoy dishes such as ‘Cozido Panelo’, a dish reminiscent to the national dish ‘Cozido à Portuguesa’. These tacos are inspired from Seixal, a northern island location. Made with local cabbage, vegetables and salt-cured pork. Also ‘Cod fish Pithivier’, a French puff pastry cake with traditional Portuguese cod fish and their popular Lamb dish, where the meat is stewed then cushioned in filo pastry, vegetables gyoza, fermented garlic, pear and Jerusalem artichoke puree, a dish that combines Asian culinary skills with Madeiran history and produce.
