Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam, Carlson Rezidor's new European flagship property, has been acquired by a European-Israeli investor group and will welcome the first guests in 2016.
Leading Dutch design company Moooi will create the 478-room hotel's concept and interior along with Adam Smit from ZZDP Architects.
"We are delighted to complete this exciting project together with Omnam Investment Group and thank the new owners for their trust in us," said Wolfgang M. Neumann, president and CEO of Rezidor. "Amsterdam is one of the most important hotel markets in Europe, and we have a strong presence with five hotels and almost 1,300 rooms in operation and under development". Rezidor also operates a further hotel in Noordwijk aan Zee.
"This transaction reflects our pro-active and collaborative approach with our partners and business stakeholders; including lenders, brokers, owners and new investors," added Elie Younes, senior vice-president and head of group development at Rezidor. "By providing investment opportunities and business solutions, we endeavour to add value and mitigate risks to all parties involved."
The 42,000m2 building is the largest vacant office complex in Amsterdam. Works for the conversion to a hotel began in November 2014. Besides 478 guest rooms in vibrant design, the Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam will offer 4,000m2 of conference space (including a ballroom), an all-day-dining restaurant, a lobby bar, a gym and 500 parking spaces.
