Spanish travel giant Barceló Group has signed a partnership agreement with the Asian hotel group Plateno in a move that comes as the company is launching an all-new multibrand strategy for its hotel portfolio. Plateno will now be able to operate with the Barceló brand in China and the wider region.
"Through this agreement, our two hotel groups hope to combine the know-how of European hoteliers with the extensive knowledge of the Chinese market," Barceló CEO Raúl González said.
The deal came as Barceló announced a major new multibrand strategy, and the company has also expanded its presence in South America.
